Israeli forces carried out simultaneous ground incursions into the Syrian provinces of Quneitra and Daraa, entering Kodna village in central Quneitra and positioning among civilian homes, while an armoured column including tanks advanced from a newly established base at al-Hamidiya toward the vicinity of Ain al-Nouriya [2]. The movements, attributed to unnamed local sources, included intense gunfire and illumination bombs fired from the al-Jazeera barracks toward Ma'ariya village in western Daraa [2]. Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani rejected what he called Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty and condemned Netanyahu's entry into Syrian territory, stating that more than forty countries supported Syria's position at the UN Security Council [14]. The Jerusalem Governorate, carried by the Palestinian official agency WAFA, said 480 Israelis raided the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on the second day of Rosh Hashanah, entering through the Mughrabi Gate, performing Talmudic rites and praying in groups [8]. The Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Administration characterised the entries as raids and stressed that Muslim sovereignty over the holy site is being violated [8]. Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Foad Majali condemned the incursions, stating `لا سيادة لإسرائيل على مدينة القدس المحتلة ومقدساتها الإسلامية والمسيحية` (Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites), and called on the international community to compel Israel to stop its violations [18]. The Israeli government maintains that the historical status quo at Al-Aqsa — under which only Muslims may pray while members of other religions may only visit — is preserved, and has allowed Jews to enter under police escort by unilateral decision since 2003 [8]. Israel's ultra-Orthodox rabbis, most of whom hold that Jewish entry to the site is religiously forbidden, stand apart from both positions [8].

UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned civilian casualties and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory [22]. Following an earlier wave of strikes in April, EU High Representative Kaja Kallas said it was hard to claim such brutal actions were self-defence [23], while French President Emmanuel Macron said the bombardments posed a direct threat to the ceasefire's durability [23]. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Russia resolutely condemned the Israeli attack on Lebanon [24], and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez asked the EU to suspend its association agreement with Israel [23].

Parliament member Hassan Ezzeddin of the Hezbollah bloc said the Lebanese state's bet on US political support against Israel was an illusion [16].
An Israeli air strike on a vehicle in the Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood of Gaza City killed at least two people and wounded 13, with the Israeli military saying it targeted two Hamas fighters [1]. A Palestinian died from injuries sustained in an Israeli air strike on vehicles in Khan Younis [5], and Al Jazeera reported that Israeli forces killed a pregnant Palestinian woman in Gaza [7]. More than 1,300 Palestinians have been killed across Gaza since the US-brokered ceasefire began last October [1], with cumulative figures of at least 1,369 killed and 4,627 injured since the October 2025 ceasefire [9]. Gaza's Health Ministry reported that several hospital generators have stopped working because of shortages of oil, fuel and spare parts [1]. Hamas accused Israel of violating the ceasefire and obstructing US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war [1]. Trump, during a visit to Ireland, defended his administration's Gaza record, stating: "We put out the fire, and we got all the hostages back. There's very little happening right now in Gaza" [1].

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced retaliatory measures including consulate closure and entry bans on several MPs [3]. An Israeli soldier shot Qassem Hussam, a Palestinian man in his mid-30s, in the leg after settlers brought livestock onto Palestinian-owned land in Faqqua, with the IDF confirming the shooting is under review [3]. OCHA counts more than 1,111 Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank including East Jerusalem since 7 October 2023 [3].
Iranian officials and military commanders presented ballistic-missile strikes on Israeli targets as justified responses to Israeli strikes on Beirut's southern suburbs [25]. The IRGC announced it struck Ramat David airbase with ballistic missiles and warned of wider responses covering US and Israeli targets if violations continue [25]. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the US and Israel honor neither ceasefire nor dialogue, stating `نه به آتشبس پایبندند نه به گفتگو باور دارند، و با محاصرهٔ دریایی و نقض توافقات دربارهٔ لبنان نشان دادند که فقط زبان قدرت میفهمند` (They are committed neither to ceasefire nor to dialogue, and with the naval blockade and violation of agreements regarding Lebanon they showed that they understand only the language of power) [25]. Pro-Palestinian protesters in Haifa demonstrated against Israeli operations in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria, chanting `מהים לנהר פלסטין תשוחרר` (From the sea to the river, Palestine will be freed) [13]. Israeli forces raided the Jenin home of Palestinian journalist Ali al-Samoudi, beating his son and ordering Samoudi to turn himself in; Samoudi was previously held without charge for a year and says he suffered torture in detention [11].
The Lebanese government announced that the number of people displaced inside the country during the Israeli campaign exceeded one million [4]. A June 26 framework agreement was signed after a fifth round of direct talks in Washington [4], and Lebanon's president is demanding urgent international action to halt the violations and hold perpetrators accountable [17].
